Dr. Campbell is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the College of Education and Allied Professions. She serves the Office of Field Experience as the Early Field Experience Coordinator and the School of Teaching and Learning as an instructor. Dr. Campbell holds a BS in Middle Grades Education; an MA in Early Childhood Education; an Ed.S. in Curriculum and Instruction; and a Ph.D. in Teaching and Learning/Literacy from Georgia State University. She joined the Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵfaculty in 2021 after retiring from the state of Georgia with 30 years of experience in K-12 public education; she has been a middle school teacher, elementary school assistant principal, district-level literacy specialist, and a K-12 virtual school principal.<br><br>She currently resides in Whittier, NC with her husband, Steve. They enjoy hiking and fly fishing in the beautiful outdoors of WNC.
Teaching interests include courses with an emphasis on Curriculum and Instruction, Literacy, and Content Area Literacy.
Research interests include K-8 literacy instruction, content literacy, professional learning, teacher preparation, and preservice teacher field experiences.
