Biography
Dr. Christine Ciecierski Berger earned her PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision
and her Master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Loyola University
Maryland in Baltimore, MD. She has been a counselor educator for 16 years and she
was most recently a counselor educator at UTRGV in the Rio Grande Valley in TX and
Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor in
VA and a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in MD. She is also an approved clinical
supervisor in VA. Her clinical work focuses on trauma. In recent years, Christine
has offered general mental health counseling through telehealth platforms, one of
which focuses on services to undergraduate, graduate, medical, and other professional
programs. Christine has been a member of ACA, ACES, SACES, and ACC and served as a
Trustee of the Association for Creativity in Counseling for 6 years.
Teaching Interests
Christine has taught nearly all CACEP counseling and enjoys all of them. The courses
Christine enjoys the most are field courses of Practicum and Internship, Clinical
Mental Health Counseling, Group Counseling, Theories of Counseling, and Ethics.
Research Interests
Her research interests focus on complementary and alternative therapies and their
evidence-based application to mental health treatment.
