After more than 20 years of teaching Chemistry & Biology, I now enjoy teaching Health Sciences at WCU. Health, wellness & exercise science are subject areas I am passionate about & look forward to engaging in classroom discussions. These are topics we can all apply to our lives & creating healthy awareness is my goal.
My working career began in nursing, therefore I enjoy healthcare conversations as well!
On a personal note, Detroit, Michigan is my hometown. My family & I have lived here in WNC since 2003. I am an avid runner, swimmer & enjoy triathlons as well. Cooking, Reading & Traveling are huge hobbies outside of exercise for me.
Based on my background, I have a strong interest in continually learning and exchanging knowledge on health-related subjects such as health and wellness, behavior change, nutrition, physiology, infectious and chronic diseases, and body composition.
I am a full-time PhD Health Science student at Liberty University, focusing my research on behavior change and nutrition.
