Biography

Dr White is a professor of Computer Information Systems. Dr. White has published articles in diverse journals from Small Group Research to Business Communications Quarterly, to Journal of Informatio Systems Education, to Issues in Information Systems.<br><br>Before joining WCU's College of Business, in 1992, Dr. White started and spent 8 years running the Sound To Sea Program on the coast of North Carolina at Trininty Center--Episcopal Camp and Conference Center of the Diocese of East Carolina. From 1992 to today, over a thousand school groups and about 150,000 students have completed team-building activities and learned about the coastal environment (https://www.trinityctr.org/sound-to-sea/)<br><br>Prior to her work designing and running the Sound to Sea Program, Dr. White lived and worked overseas at a bread and breakfast in London and voluteered on a kibbutz in Israel. Dr White was proud to serve the United States of America as a US Peace Corps Volunteer in the Dominican Republic (1987-1989) where she created The World Map Project where Peace Corps Volunteers work with students and counterparts to hand draw and paint world maps over 10 feet wide on school walls all around the world.

Research Interests

A curious person like me? I have a wide range of interests from Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Prompt Development Life Cycle (PDLC) to the intersection of IT and Law to Images Used in Search Engines to new technologies used in classes!
