Transfer CreditWestern Carolina will accept credits in transfer from regionally accredited colleges and universities. These credits may be applied towards the liberal studies, major course, or general elective areas.
American Council on Education (ACE) Credit Recommendations
Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ honors ACE credit recommendations to the greatest extent
possible. Official transcripts that list this training and experience, along with
a corresponding recommendation for college credit, are prepared by each military branch
for its members. These transcripts can be found on the .
Military transcripts of veterans admitted to the university will be evaluated for potential credit to be applied towards graduation.
Veterans applying for admission to graduate programs should also review their military transcripts or formal training course completion certificates for possible ACE recommendations for credit at the graduate level.
CLEP and DANTES Subject Standardized Tests (SSTs)
CLEP Subject exams and DANTES SSTs will be evaluated for possible credit transfer.
Residency Requirement
To be eligible for graduation, students must complete a minimum of 25% of the total
number of semester hours required for their degree program through regular enrollment
at Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ. They must also complete a minimum of twelve semester
hours in junior-senior level courses in the major field. Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ’s
distance learning courses can be used to meet this requirement.
