Course Description

Methods and techniques for problem solving in mathematics.
Prerequisite: MATH 200. Two semester hours.

Objectives

By the end of the course, the student will be able to:

• apply appropriate techniques to solve problems involving mathematics and logic from a variety of topics.
• analyze alternate definitions, language, and approaches to mathematical ideas.
• analyze common problems of high school mathematics from a deeper mathematical level.
• connect ideas that have been studied separately in different courses.
• relate ideas studied in high school mathematics to ones encountered in university level mathematics classes.
