Today, the meaning of literacy, what it means to be literate, has shifted dramatically. Literacy involves more than a set of conventions to be learned, either through print or technological formats. Rather, literacy enables people to negotiate meaning.

NCSELP (North Carolina School Executive Leadership Program) Masters in School Administration leads to Principal licensure and is intentional about identifying leaders who are interested in confronting policies, structures and practices that lead to inequities in educational systems and communities.

Principal Fellows Program Grant

Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵreceived a competitive grant for the Principal Fellows Program which is part of the university’s Masters in School Administration Program. PFP is focused on students who have been identified as aspiring leaders and the grant allows them to receive additional equity training, attend national conferences and engage with other school leaders throughout the country dedicated to equity work.

Duke Energy provides $1 million in grants to support organizations focused on social justice, racial equity in North Carolina. Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵFoundation to receive $25,000 from this initiative.
