CEAP faculty and school partners hosted a Co-teaching Connection Professional Development event at NCCAT. Lots of positive comments from Jackson County teachers, interns, and others from Clay, Haywood, and Buncombe counties. Shout out to those who planned and facilitated the event: Drs. Pinter, Witzel, Rush, and Unruh (WCU); Karen Sumner (NCCAT), Kelly Dopke, Kelli Roads, and Stacy Collins (JCPS).

The Equity Summit is an event that has been a long time coming. We’re so proud of our colleagues, partners, and students. Dr. Bettina Love got us riled up for the work and many faculty and regional school partners were there to share the work. Dr. González-Rosario spoke about language policing and our journey toward language justice. Dr. Patricia Bricker, Rebby Kern, & Kayleigh Kassel talked about Safe & Affirming Schools for LGBTQIA+ Students. Both MiSTERS & Asheville City HS students came to engage & talk about inequities with codes of conduct, the school to prison pipeline, the achievement gap, poverty, & more. With them as our future, I’m encouraged.
