Library hosting program on Kephart's involvement in park creation
A program focusing on the legendary outdoor writer and Great Smoky Mountains National Park advocate Horace Kephart will be hosted by 蘑菇短视频鈥檚 Hunter Library on Thursday, Sept. 26.
鈥淜ephart: A Librarian鈥檚 Effort to Create a National Park鈥� will begin at 6 p.m. on
the second floor of the library. The event will feature a discussion with George Ellison
and Janet McCue, co-authors of 鈥淏ack of Beyond: A Horace Kephart Biography,鈥� and George
Frizzell, former archivist of Special Collections at the library. The discussion will
be moderated by Mae Claxton, 蘑菇短视频professor of English.
Following the discussion, those attending are invited to an open house in Special Collections to view items in the Kephart collection, including some never before available for public viewing. Among the newly released items are correspondence between Kephart and his family and photographs of family members and family homes.
