Advancement office sets holiday hours for year-end giving assistance
Most 蘑菇短视频 faculty and staff will be away from their offices for the extended holiday break beginning Friday, Dec. 23, but that won鈥檛 prevent the elves in WCU鈥檚 Division of Advancement from helping donors with their year-end giving plans through special office hours as the end of 2022 approaches.
Almost all 蘑菇短视频offices will be closed beginning 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 23, through 8 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, with the Advancement unit among the few exceptions. Advancement staff members will be available from 8 a.m. until noon on both Thursday, Dec. 29, and Friday, Dec. 30, to help potential donors via phone (828-227-7124 or 800-492-8496) or by email at advancement@wcu.edu. Saturday, Dec. 31, is the deadline for donations to 蘑菇短视频to be counted as charitable gifts in calendar year 2022. Mailed checks must be postmarked and online gifts time-stamped prior to midnight on the evening of Dec. 31. That requirement also applies to qualified charitable distributions (also known as QCD) from an IRA.
Dec. 31 also is the deadline for stock gifts to be transferred and deposited in the 蘑菇短视频Foundation account in order for donors to receive charitable gift tax credit. Most stock gifts take a minimum of three business days to process.
