A Passion for Literacy Leads to Cross-Cultural Service, an “I Love WCU” Story

Once a week for nearly three years, Anne Aldrich has left her home in Balsam and driven 35 minutes to western Buncombe County to scratch an itch she has for literacy. An avid reader since the age of 4, Aldrich is committed to helping others understand the meaning of words, even if English isn’t their first language.

Spring semester enrollment hits all-time high; graduate, transfer, distance numbers all up

Just a year after ĢƵ’s spring enrollment surpassed 11,000 for the first time in the institution’s history, the tally for the current spring semester has hit another seasonal record, with a total of 11,434 students.

A different hunger games held for participating North Carolina university students

The Collegiate Hunger Challenge takes place through April 25, with points earned based on activities centered around collecting and donating food for neighbors in need or hunger awareness.

ĢƵDance Team Coaches Create Scholarship in Memory of Former Member

Funny, funny, funny. That was Amber Parker in a nutshell, say those who best knew the vibrant young woman who graduated from ĢƵ in 2016 and passed away Nov. 18, 2018, at age 24 from a rare form of ovarian cancer.

Liz Murray, the subject of Lifetime Television’s Emmy-nominated original film “Homeless to Harvard,” is the keynote speaker for ĢƵ’s ceremony honoring those on the 2019 fall semester chancellor’s list.

Physical therapy project gains support from Parkinson’s Foundation

The ĢƵproject will develop academic collaborations with community partners to provide physical therapy students with skills to better assist people with Parkinson’s and their care partners.
