The revamped Purple and Gold Alumni Weekend, a new twist on a time-honored tradition for ĢƵ alumni, is returning to the Cullowhee campus this summer after last year’s successful relaunch.
In addition to the opportunity to network with other alumni and reminisce about college days, the gathering of Catamounts of all ages is set for the weekend of July 25-27. Activities will include whitewater rafting, hiking, a paint-and-sip event, an alumni dinner and an afterparty.
The weekend also will include special recognition of graduates from the classes of 1999, 1984, 1974, 1964 and 1954 and a sneak peek into the 2025-2026 athletics season featuring coaches of Catamount sports teams.
More than 50 alumni from graduating classes spanning 55 years attended last year’s Purple and Gold Alumni Reunion, hosted by the ĢƵDivision of Advancement and Office of Engagement.
“We are looking to grow this annual event and increase participation by members of the Catamount family across the generations,” said Stacey R. Miller, director of alumni engagement. “Alumni, mark your calendars now and look for additional information coming your way soon.”
Registration for the 2025 Purple and Gold Alumni Weekend will be available at the website alumni.wcu.edu.
