Hunter Library’s Gaming Room

The gaming room is located on the first floor of the Library in HL 184. From the main elevator, you turn right, past the restrooms and the library's Electronic Classroom (HL 186). The Gameroom is on the left.





When arriving for your booking, come to the Circulation Desk to confirm and check out any controllers, games, etc... you wish to use. We will also open the room for you at this time.

Below is the list of eSports equipment and consoles available to check out:


We have 2 eSports PCs with Valorant, League of Legends, Fortnite, Apex Legends, Rocket League, Overwatch, and Minecraft Academic Edition.

We have:

  • An Xbox Series X with Apex Legends, Rocket League, Overwatch, PUBG, and Call of Duty: Warzone installed on the console.
  • 1 Playstation 5
  • 1 Nintendo Switch with Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Super Smash Bros: Ultimate, and Mario Party Superstars, and the console itself all available for checkout from the Circulation Desk.

The following equipment is available to be checked out from the Circulation Desk:

  • 7 pairs of Gaming Headphones that can be used with the eSports PCs
  • 1 dedicated Xbox controller
  • 4 additional Xbox controllers that can be used with the eSports PCs or the Xbox and
    • 2 DualSense controllers for the PS5
  • Several PS 5 games:
    • Call of Duty: Vanguard, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II
    • Spider-Man 2
    • Ghost of Tsushima: Director's Cut
    • PS4 Resident Evil VII
    • PS4 Read Dead Redemption II
  • Nintendo Switch cartridges for:
    • Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
    • Super Smash Bros: Ultimate
    • Mario Party Superstars

By reserving this room, you agree to the following:

   

  1. In consideration for being allowed by ĢƵ to access and/or use the Game Room program(s) and equipment, I waive any and all claims and release and forever discharge ĢƵ and the Board of Governors of the University System of North Carolina, and their directors, trustees, officers, agent or employees from any and all actions, claims, damages, judgments, demands, rights, and causes of action of whatever kind or nature, arising out of all known and unknown, foreseen and unforeseen bodily and personal injuries or damage to property arising out of or related to my use of the Game Room program(s) and equipment.
       

  2. I warrant that I am authorized to use the applicable programs, files, data, images, or any other materials (collectively “Content”) on the Game Room equipment and that the use of the content will not infringe upon any third-party’s copyright, patent, trademark, trade secret or other proprietary or intellectual property rights.
       

  3. I am the only authorized user of the Game Room program(s) and equipment during my reservation. agree that I am solely liable for all actions, claims, damages, judgments, demands, rights, and causes of action of whatever kind or nature, made by persons that accompany me to this reservation.
       

  4. You agree to indemnify ĢƵ, its Trustees, officers, agents, and employees, from any and all claims, demands, suits, actions, liabilities (including attorney’s fees), and costs of any kind incurred as a result of a final judgment or settlement or any claim or legal proceeding arising out of or resulting from a breach or claimed breach of the foregoing representations and warranties or by reason of any accident, injury, or damage to any person or property howsoever caused, arising from or connected with use of Hunter Library’s Game Room.
       

  5. I agree to indemnify ĢƵ, its Trustees, officers, agents, and employees, from any and all claims, demands, suits, actions, liabilities (including attorney’s fees), and costs of any kind incurred as a result of a final judgment or settlement or any claim or legal proceeding arising out of or resulting from a breach or claimed breach of the foregoing representations and warranties or by reason of any accident, injury (including death), or damage to any person or property howsoever caused, arising from or connected with use of the Game Room program(s) and equipment.
       

  6. Any persons in the room with me also agree to these conditions. (See notice on the door of the room for more details.)

Hunter Library’s Gaming Room Code of Conduct

  • NO FOOD OR DRINKS ARE ALLOWED.
  • Any action or behavior that is disruptive or potentially harmful to others, including but not limited to harassment, foul language, fighting, or provoking violence is not permitted.
  • This room is available to faculty, staff and students of ĢƵand those with a current Friends of Hunter Library membership.
  • Reservations for the equipment are required.
  • You must check in at the Circulation desk when arriving for your reservation.
  • Once in the room, take a note of your time so you don’t go over into someone else’s. 
  • This room is not soundproof so please be respectful of others in the area.
  • If anything is wrong or you are unsure of something, please find a library staff member.
