We offer a variety of workshops and classroom presentations to assist you with helping your students gain professional competencies. If you would like to request a workshop or classroom presentation on a topic that is not listed here please include that in the presentation request form. You will receive a response from our office within 48 hours from the submission of the form.
¸éé²õ³Ü³¾Ã©&²Ô²ú²õ±è;°Â°ù¾±³Ù¾±²Ô²µ - This workshop is intended to assist students with the development and writing of a professional resume. Students will be taught the basics of current resume style, formatting, writing and editing. Students should bring a draft copy of their resume to the workshop and be ready to take notes! Appropriate for Undergraduate and Graduate students.
Cover Letter Writing - This workshop is intended to assist students with the development and writing of a professional cover letter. Students will be taught the basics of current cover letter style, formatting, writing and editing. Students should bring a draft copy of a job description they would like to apply to for the workshop and be ready to take notes! Appropriate for Undergraduate and Graduate students.
Interview Preparation - This event is intended to teach students proper behavior and preparation for professional interviews. The workshop will cover commonly asked questions, dress, behavior and tips to help students ace their interview! Appropriate for Graduate and Undergraduate students.
Job Search Strategies - This workshop will provide resources, tips and support for students and alumni who are going into the workforce, including job search websites, information on how to find and contact potential employers, and how to effectively use networking to find a job.
Career Exploration - This workshop helps students connect major to career. In these sessions, we focus on the skills and experiences they've gained through their major and how those will provide a competitive advantage when applying to jobs. We will also highlight careers directly connected with the major, as well as discuss how students can pivot their experiences to apply for positions not directly in line with their major.
Dressing for Success - This workshop provides a detailed look at what to wear in various professional settings, from the initial interview to typical workplace attire. Participants will learn the difference between business formal, business casual, smart casual, and casual dress, and tips on how to shop smart for these items.
Job Fair Prep - This workshop focuses on how to properly prepare for a Job Fair. We will cover topics such as job fair etiquette, proper preparation needed, and how to succeed in a large scale networking opportunity such as a job fair. These session are available in the weeks leading up to our Catamount Career and Networking Day each semester.
